Do you have a pet that is well-trained or certified as a pet therapy animal? Pet therapy is a guided interaction between a person and an animal. It also involves the animal’s handler. Our residents, and staff, enjoy pets that come to visit. There are many therapeutic benefits to animal visits:
- making people happier, lessening depression, and improving your outlook on life
- decreasing loneliness and isolation
- reducing boredom
- reducing anxiety because of its calming effects
These are only a few of the reasons Bethesda welcomes pets into our facilities.
